Why Annual Reports are important

Save the Mothers has just published our 2016 Annual Report, detailing information about organizational activities and finances throughout the 2015-16 fiscal year.

This year, to save on costs, we are publishing the report in an online version only. You can download the PDF of the 2016 Annual Report here, and of our Financial Statements here.

But all of this begs the question, why are Annual Reports important?

“An Annual Report gives an up-to-the-minute snapshot of a charity’s activities,” says Save the Mothers’ Managing Director, Dr. Daniel Scott. “It provides donors, volunteers, staff and all who read it with an idea of the organization’s goals and accomplishments, health and challenges – all in one document.”

Save the Mothers’ 2016 Annual Report includes such insightful information as this tidbit from Executive Director Dr. Jean Chamberlain Froese: “During the 2015/16 fiscal year, Save the Mothers enrolled 24 new students into our Ugandan program and 23 into the International stream. Fifty-five new graduates received their diplomas!”

That kind of data is gold for people looking to measure the effectiveness of their donations, or to evaluate the impact of the Save the Mothers’ program.

At Save the Mothers, our vision is that no mother or child should die of preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Read our 2016 Annual Report. Catch the vision. And then, please donate to help us save more mothers and babies in 2017.
