In honour of World Book Day–this Sunday, April 23–we’ve pulled the following blog post from the archives. Watch the video, then if you haven’t already done so, buy the book. Buy several! Share them with friends. In the process, you will help to change the game for vulnerable East African women and babies.
Dr. Jean Chamberlain Froese is the founder and executive director of Save the Mothers, and co-author of The Game Changers: True Stories About Saving Mothers & Babies in East Africa.
In this video, she talks about the significance of Save the Mothers’ work, her own work, and the work of the hundreds of students and graduates of the Save the Mothers program who are bringing about systemic and cultural change throughout East Africa.
Change for the sake of change isn’t always positive. But change that is directed at bringing about societal transformation so that lives will be saved, cannot be seen as anything other than good.
Watch the video. Buy the book. You might just find yourself motivated to become a game changer too!
